Primary Years Programme

An enquiry-based approach to learning is adopted in the Cambridge International Primary Programme. The curriculum is enriched with a transdisciplinary process which encourages in students qualities of confidence and respect for other cultures. Cambridge Primary offers a flexible curriculum with integrated assessment for 5-11 year olds. Clear learning objectives are set for core subjects like English, Mathematics and Science each year of primary education. Cambridge Primary provides an excellent foundation for next stage of Cambridge, Cambridge Secondary 1 for students between ages 11-14.

We are also introducing an integrated curriculum from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

We use learner- centered approach and employ the best international educational practices including a holistic approach, with varied experiences and creative processes which address not just numeracy and literacy but also foster creativity and imagination in children.

Musicals, art, drama, and public speaking, are vital components of this programme. Team and individual sports are a central part of the APWS experience. A broad range of extra-curricular activities are offered to students with the support of talented and motivated faculty, experts, and parental support. To promote strong oral expression of the written word we have the Reading Programme and the Reading Club.

Children at this stage have their own abilities, interests, and aspirations. We have designed our curriculum for theses grades to encourage and motivate them to be confident, self-reliant and self-disciplined. Our faculty makes use of multiple styles of learning to strengthen understanding and retention.
